SEO, GEO, or LP: Where to Start?

Published: June 30, 2026 6 min

Which of SEO, GEO, or LP to tackle first is decided by your site’s overall, integrated score. The rule is to start from the angle that is both weakest and highest-impact, across all three. The point is to decide “where to fix” across the three angles — not priorities within a single angle.

I’m Naohiro Hayashi, creator of Soreda!. I built a tool myself that diagnoses GEO, SEO, and LP together, and have run it. From that experience, I’ll lay out how to set improvement priorities across the three angles. A note first: even improving in priority order doesn’t guarantee traffic or conversions. Read it on that footing.

Which of SEO, GEO, or LP to tackle first is decided by your overall score

Which to tackle first is decided not by a hunch but by your site’s overall score. Seen across the three angles, the weakest angle is where you start.

Across the three, start from the weakest angle

Which of SEO, GEO, or LP comes first varies by site. A site with search traffic but few sign-ups, and a site that isn’t found in search at all, should prioritize different angles. Looking across the three, you start from the weakest.

First, know the three angles’ scores with a diagnosis

Priorities can only be set once you know the three angles’ scores. So first, diagnose the whole site to grasp your current state. Guessing at priorities without that picture often means polishing an angle that was already fine. How to diagnose is covered in How to Diagnose Your Whole Site at Once.

Setting priorities across the three angles

The basic rule is to start where impact is large and the angle is weak. Across the three, spot the place that’s the bottleneck.

Start where impact is large and the angle is weak

For example, if visitors arrive from search or AI but aren’t converting, then post-visit conversion (LP) is the bottleneck. Conversely, if arrivals are few to begin with, search (SEO) or AI search (GEO) comes first. Is it “arriving but not converting” or “not arriving at all”? The symptom tells you the weak angle. Fixing the bottleneck first tends to give the biggest return for the effort, because it’s the constraint holding everything else back.

Rough guides by angle

If search traffic is thin, start from SEO or GEO. The concrete measures for each are in GEO Tips to Get Cited in AI Search and Where to Start with SEO: Setting Priorities. If post-visit sign-ups are weak, reviewing the LP (conversion) comes first, and that is covered in How to Improve Your Landing Page Conversion Rate. These are starting points, not fixed rules — the integrated score for your specific site always takes precedence over any general guide.

What to watch out for in prioritizing

What to watch out for is holding the premise that improvement doesn’t guarantee rankings or results. Building faithfully on the basics, from the highest-impact spots, is the sure path.

Rankings and results aren’t guaranteed — build steadily

However well you order priorities and improve, search rankings and traffic or conversion results aren’t guaranteed. The algorithms of search and AI are undisclosed and change. That’s exactly why, rather than chasing the latest trick, steadily fixing the weak angle is, in the end, reliable.

After improving, re-diagnose to check the effect

Once you’ve improved, don’t leave it there — diagnose the whole site again and check what shifted. Comparing before and after with a diagnosis shows which angle grew and where the next weak spot is. You can re-diagnose from How to Diagnose Your Whole Site at Once. Repeating diagnosis and improvement is what leads to steady progress.

FAQ

Q. Which works best? A. It varies by site, so there’s no single answer. Looking at the overall score, it’s most efficient to start from the weakest, highest-impact angle.

Q. Should I do all of them at once? A. No. Set priorities and work from the highest-impact spot, one at a time. Tackling everything at once scatters the effect and makes it hard to tell which change actually moved the needle.

Q. If I do this, will traffic definitely grow? A. No. Improvement raises the odds of results, not a sure guarantee — because the algorithms are uncertain.

Q. How much does it cost? A. Site diagnosis is ticket-based, counted per run. See the official site for current details.

Which of SEO, GEO, or LP to tackle first is decided by an integrated score across the three. From the weakest, highest-impact angle. Results can’t be guaranteed, but fixing from the bottleneck, steadily, raises your odds of growing traffic. Start by knowing your whole site’s weak points through a diagnosis.
